World's first 'Robocop' reports for duty at Dubai mall

The world's first robot police officer officially reported for duty at the UAE's flagship Dubai Mall, on Tuesday.

The new robot was seen zooming around the world's largest mall, assisting shoppers with the payment of fines, as well as giving them directions and showering them with compliments.

The high-tech police officer, unveiled at the GITEX Technology Conference in Dubai in 2015, can detect the faces of wanted criminals in airports and malls, said Lieutenant Saeed Al Mazrooei of the Dubai Police Smart Services Department.

The 'Robocop' also flirted with tourists, telling one that "you have really pretty eyes" and asking another "if they grew up around here."
