10 favourite brunch places in Singapore

Brunches are the new lunches here in Singapore, and we're on a never-ending search for new cafes and restaurants that can cook up a mean brunch while we chill on comfortable seats amidst a relaxing ambience with our cuppas. We love a good brunch too, so here are our picks of our favourite brunches in Singapore.

1. Edge

Edge at Pan Pacific Singapore has launched one of the longest champagne brunches ever in Singapore, which is available on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm, a whopping four hours. Enjoy a vast array of food complemented with unlimited Veuve Clicquot champagne, wines, beers and cocktails. With live stations, a two-metre cheese and bread table, gluten-free desserts, and more than ten different cuisines, Sunday brunch will never be the same for hearty-eaters.

Must tries:
The Omi Wagyu Beef and Pan-Seared Foie Gras on Toast.

The omi wagyu beef is one of the softest cuts of meat we have ever tried, and melts in your mouth instantly. Prepared a la minute by the talented chefs at the live stations, all you have to do is to pass your wooden chopstick to them, and they will come by your table with your order after. The pan-seared foie gras is possibly one of the biggest we've ever seen or eaten in Singapore. Juicy and tasty, the duck liver is definitely worth every calorie eaten.

Venue: Edge, Pan Pacific Hotel Level 3, 7 Raffles Boulevard

2. The Missing Pan

The Missing Pan is a quaint little shophouse along the streets of Bukit Timah, furnished with adorable shelves, lighting and wooden furniture, giving you a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere for you to chill out and have brunch. With two floors, the restaurant has an organic bakery serving freshly baked artisanal breads on the first floor, with an open-kitchen allowing you to see the bakers at work. The second floor is a brasserie, where hearty brunch goodness is served to you as you sip on your cups of coffee or tea with your friends.

Must tries:
The Missing Pan has a pretty extensive menu, with over 10 dishes on its brunch list, but the 62-degree Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($22) and French Toast Salpicon ($19) are unmistakably the two most outstanding dishes on the menu.

The Eggs Benedict, a very refreshing dish, has two perfectly poached eggs seated on top of avocados and crisp sourdough. The in-house smoked salmon, which complements the poached eggs well, is topped with hollandaise, making it a well-balanced dish.

The French Toast Salpicon, on the other hand, has a sweet exterior with a savoury surprise. A thick french toast topped with banana nuggets and mixed berries, it can be cut open to reveal a surprise stuffing of chicken, spinach and mushroom. Don't be too weirded out by the thought of it -- the sweet and savoury combination is actually a very addictive one, and topped with homemade strawberry-smoked maple syrup, the french toast is one of the best we've ever tasted.

For those who must have a hearty meal, the Pantry Steak and Eggs ($38) is one of the bistro's bestsellers during the weekend brunch.
