It takes beer to make thirst worthwhile. Or so goes a German proverb, and a sentiment that fans of the frothy liquid in 50 shades of flaxen gold will surely identify with. Mandy Lim Beitler scopes out the best spots this Oktoberfest season to raise those mugs with a hearty "Prost"!

1. Molly Roffey's Irish Pub (September 9 - October 4)

If the vaulted ceilings with wooden beams and Irish-inspired ambience at Molly Roffey's doesn't impress you, the Oktoberfest set meals certainly will. Bite into a selection of juicy sausages or tear into the substantial pork knuckle platter. Available a la carte at S$29 and S$39 respectively, top up just S$20 to complete each set and get two pints of Erdinger Weissbier. 11. Oktoberfest Asia 2015 (October 8-10)

Prepare for three days of no-holds-barred partying at Marina at Keppel Bay. Serving only brews from Bavaria's finest breweries - Paulaner Brauhaus, Schneider Weisse, Weihenstephan and Kloster Welterburger - ticket prices include all the beer and gourmet Bavarian food you can eat, and you get to take home a souvenir 500ml beer stein. The original Hofbrauhaus Show brings Bavarian cultural entertainment to Singapore - you won't want to miss the yodelling queen. Fringe activities include games like beer pong and a nightly raffle.
