Coffee grounds, lemon, cream cheese... You probably don't think much of these mundane items that are stored somewhere in your kitchen, but they could be the key to getting your next meal to taste better.
According to Reader's Digest, adding coffee grounds to the spice rub for your steak will give it a rich, aromatic flavour. As for lemon, squeeze it into your pasta in place of salt, and you'll be cutting down on your sodium intake.
And, if you some cream cheese to spare, use it for some great-tasting eggs, Reader's Digest says.
It also recommends adding horseradish to your usual potato salad and Earl Grey tea to a sauce for pan-seared chicken or pork.
