It's all well and good to tell people to save money on alcohol by going for happy hour. But what if you're working late? When happy hour ends, usually at 7pm, at which time you're still stealing surreptitious glances at your boss and wondering when it'll be safe to sneak out of the office, you lose all hope in life.

Here's a bunch of places with reasonable happy hours that you won't have to take sick leave to enjoy.

RAFFLES PLACE

Prince of Wales, 51 Boat Quay

This scruffy backpacker bar looks out of place amongst the suits on Boat Quay, which is a pity as Happy Hour is a crazy 12 hours long every day, during which a few dollars get knocked off every alcoholic drink you order. Bottled beers go for as low as $9.

What was once an Old Town Coffee joint has now become a quaint little bar tucked away behind the whole row of eateries opposite Bukit Timah Shopping Centre and Beauty World.
