77 awards presented to Singapore's top consumer electronics and technology brands

E-commerce giant Qoo10 has emerged the top online shopping portal for electronics going by what readers of Singapore tech magazine HWM and tech portal HardwareZone.com chose.
The online marketplace won under the category of Best Electronics Shopping Portal (Singapore), and was one of 40 Readers' Choice award winners in the HWM+HardwareZone.com Tech Awards 2016 announced on Tuesday (Feb 16).
The awards, now in its seventh year, honours the industry's top consumer electronics and technology brands.
A total of 77 awards were presented this year - 33 Editor's Choice; 40 Readers' Choice; and 4 Innovation awards.
Other winners of interesting categories under Readers' Choice awards include Fitbit under the category of Best Activity Tracker Brand, and Activision Blizzard under Best Gaming Publisher.
Asus emerged the biggest winner of the day, with a total haul of eight awards which comprised three Editor's Choice and five Reader's Choice.
Other notable winners included Apple and Samsung, each bagging a total of seven and six awards respectively.
The awards this year also marked the inclusion of video game merit categories for the first time, presented in collaboration with gaming and e-sports portal GameAxis.com.
In addition to the Best Gaming Console Brand category introduced last year, a Best Gaming Publisher category was also available for public voting among this year's Readers' Choice brand nominees.
Four new video game categories were also considered for Editor's Choice awards: Best PC Game, Best Console Game, Best Online Game and Game of the Year.
The inaugural winner for the Reader's Choice Best Gaming Publisher was Activision Blizzard while the Editor's Choice Game of the Year went to Bloodborne.
