A PREGNANT woman was brought to court on Thursday to face a charge of causing hurt to her Filipino maid.

Michelle Tham May Shear, 31, allegedly used a metal spoon to hit Ms Ma Merlyn Catamin Caro, who is in her mid-30s, on her cheek and shoulder. She also scratched the maid's cheek.

The alleged offence took place at her condominium at Hillview Avenue on Sept 26 last year.

Her lawyer, Mr Dominic Nagulendran, told the court that he has made representations.

The case will be mentioned on May 29.
