The total number of indecent exposure cases rose from 146 in 2008 and 136 in 2007 to 166 cases in 2009, according to The Straits Times.

And 2010 looks to be a record-breaking year, with 105 cases in the first 6 months of this year - one every other day.

Last week, an unidentified man in his 20s went to a 24-hour McDonald’s restaurant along Queensway to buy coffee in the nude. Another man was arrested in Ang Mo Kio after he sat down naked on the street for a few hours

The Internet has also allowed such cases to go viral online, due to camera-equipped mobile phones and citizen journalism websites like STOMP.

One woman who posted pictures of herself sunbathing beside the pool at Marina Bay Sands Skypark submitted them to an online gallery website.

The pictures subsequently made their way onto a gossip site.

The woman, who goes by the name of "Mikki" told The Straits Times that her pictures had been misused by people.

Medical experts say that some are attention seekers, while others get a thrill out of seeing the look of shock on other people’s faces.

Those found guilty of indecent exposure in public, or in a private location which is visible to those outside, can face a fine of up to $2,000 and up to three months in jail.
