He paid in cash using hotel envelopes

SINGAPORE - He was one of "less than three Caucasians" of the more than 80 men to whom she had provided sexual services.

This was one of the reasons the underage prostitute could remember Juerg Buergin, 41.

The Swiss national is on trial for paying for sex with a minor, once on Sept 29, 2010, and then on Jan 3, 2011. It is a crime to have commercial sex with anyone under 18.

The girl, who recently turned 20, testified about her liaisons with Buergin to a closed court on Wednesday.

The prosecution had applied on Tuesday to protect the girl because, at 17, she was a minor at the time of the alleged offences. There is also a gag order to not identify her.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Kavita Uthrapathy, in concluding the prosecution's case, later told the court what the girl had said.

These included some of the reasons the girl could remember Buergin.

She had testified that when Buergin paid her for their first session, he gave her cash upfront, which is a "rare thing", DPP Kavita said.
