Google finder for missing persons in Japan's earthquake

Google has launched a Google Person Finder, which is a web-based app that provides information regarding the disaster and damage with real-time updates.

It allows you to look for a missing person by searching their name.

If there is no result, it allows you create a new record for a missing person.

The service, available in both Japanese and English, should be be useful to those trying to locate a loved one.

As of midday today, the service has received over 81,000 records of people who have left messages seeking families and friends.
