Faye's S'pore gig to go on

Fans jittery about a possible cancellation of Chinese pop queen Faye Wong's concert here can rest easy.

The gig, slated for next Saturday night at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, is set to go on as planned.

Rumours have been rife that Wong, 42, is pregnant with her third child, after Hong Kong newspapers published photos of her sporting a bulge last Saturday, while she was out shopping in Causeway Bay.

Many wondered if her concert tour - which would take her to Kuala Lumpur and to the Chinese city of Harbin, after her Singapore date - would be axed.

The singer-songwriter was spotted again in Hong Kong on Sunday, looking anxious. She attempted to cover her abdomen area, said Lianhe Wanbao.

A staff member for concert promoter Running Into The Sun told my paper that the concert "will definitely not be cancelled or affected".

She added that the company has "a secure relationship" with Wong's management company. Fans "don't have to worry about (a concert cancellation)", she said. Fewer than 300 tickets remain out of the initial 5,000 released for sale.

Last weekend, Running Into The Sun released an additional 100 seats after re-configuring the stage set-up to maximise stadium seating, said a spokesman.

Meanwhile, Wong took to Weibo, a microblogging site, to shoot down speculation that she is pregnant. She wrote in Mandarin: "Okay, I admit, I am not pregnant."

She added: "But it's true that I did put on a bit of fat."

Wong has two children - Dou Jintong, 14, with her former husband Dou Wei; and Li Yan, five, with current husband Li Yapeng.
