Second body found at sea, no link established

A body of an unidentified man believed to be in his 30s was found in the waters off Labrador Park on Sunday morning at about 7.50am.

The body was discovered one day after 29-year-old Mohammad Nor Hidayat's body was found floating in the seas near Sentosa's Tanjong Beach.

The Straits Times said no link has been established between these two cases, and that the police said the cause of death for the second body was most likely to be drowning.

It has been classified as unnatural death.

Mr Mohammad Nor Hidayat was believed to have been drinking with a friend on the night of his death.

A bag thought to belong to his friend was found beside his belongings. However, there has been no news of his friend so far, neither has he made contact with Mr Mohammad Nor's family and friends.

According to The Straits Times, the police could not confirm whether the second body found on Sunday morning was that of Mr Mohammad Nor's friend.

The body of Mr Mohammad Nor, a freelance dancer with Universal Studios Singapore, was found on Saturday at about 10.20am.

The decomposed body, clad only in swimming trunks, was believed to have been brought ashore by a lifeguard.

This incident was also classified as unnatural death.

Mr Mohammad Nor's sister, Ms Nor Melati, 33, told local media that her brother had been behaving strangely in the few days before he died.

He suddenly took to tidying up his room, which was usually messy, she said.

She also said she hopped his friend was safe and appealed to him to meet her family and tell them what happened that night.
