Animal welfare review committee launches e-consultation on REACH

SINGAPORE - The Animal Welfare Legislation Review Committee (AWLRC) today launched an e-consultation initiative on government portal REACH to invite members of the public to share their views on animal welfare legislation.

Lead by Mr Yeo Guat Kwang, MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC and member of the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for National Development, the committee was set up to review animal welfare legislation with the aim of recommending amendments to strengthen the current laws.

It has held six consultation sessions from May to July so far, involving more than 170 stakeholders from grassroot leaders to veterinarians and animal welfare groups.

The e-consultation period will last for a month from Sep 5 to Oct 5.

Members of the public can access the e-consultation via the REACH website under E-Poll >> AWLRC E-Consultation on Strengthening Singapore’s Animal Welfare Legislation.
