AirAsia passengers taken to wrong terminal at Bali airport

Some passengers on an AirAsia flight from Singapore to Bali were wrongly taken to the domestic terminal instead of the international one on Monday (May 16).

According to Channel NewsAsia, the 47 passengers who flew on QZ509 were supposed to be taken to the international terminal by an airport bus after their flight landed in Denpasar, Bali.

However, a miscommunication between the flight controller and bus driver resulted in their arrival at the domestic terminal instead.

When airport staffed realised their mistake, they reportedly asked passengers to board the bus again so they could be redirected to the correct terminal for immigration procedures.

Just last Tuesday (May 10), passengers on Lion Air flight JT161 from Singapore to Jakarta were also taken to the wrong terminal at Soekarno-Hatta airport.

They were led to the domestic terminal and exited without going through immigration checks.

The Jakarta Post reported that an immigrations spokesperson blamed Lion Air for the mistake.

He said that the driver of the shuttle bus had misinterpreted information given by flight controllers.
