Christmas cheer spreads in India

INDIA - Only 2 per cent of India's population is Christian but Christmas is widely celebrated in India. All over the country, especially in the towns and cities, Christmas decorations and lights are up. "Christmas is a time for rejoicing and celebrating. In today's fast-paced life, residents of large condominiums hardly get time to socialise. During a festival like Christmas, we come together to celebrate and have fun with friends, family and neighbours," Ms Meethu Goswami, a resident of Kanpur, told The Times of India. The photograph (above) shows people at a Christmas celebration in St Paul's Church in Amritsar.
