Cross-dressing pensioner in China plays a dancing daughter for his mum

For over a decade, 74-year-old Li Yinglai has been playing 'an old daughter' his mother never had.

He has donned traditional female dress and danced to delighted crowds every weekend in Green Lake Park in Yunnan, China.

His mother, Li Shuzhen, 96, has two sons but always yearned for a daughter.

"I have to be happy since he decided to entertain me in this way" she said.

"There are still a few people who don't understand why I am dressing like a woman since I am a man. They think I am improper to perform in this way" said Yinglai.

But he went on "performing in this way is good for my health. I am making the people around me happy."
