Medical specialists checking the 19-year-old found several parts of a pen lodged deep in her lung tissue.

The parts had caused significant damage to her lungs as well as infections and coughs with smelly discharge.

Both the teenager and her doctors were at a loss to explain how the parts ended up in her lungs.
