Effects of candle wax on Borobudur studied

The Borobudur Conservation Body (BKB) in Magelang, Central Java is conducting a study on the effects candle wax and ash from incense sticks have on the Borobudur Temple's stone artifacts.

BKB head Marsis Sutopo explained that many visitors go to the temple to conduct prayers, using objects such as candles and incense sticks that are usually placed on the stone or placed beside the artifacts.

The research that the body will carry out involves observing how much impact the residue from the candles and incense has on the efforts to preserve the temple.
