Tamil Nadu farmers, who have been engaged in a two-month-long protest in New Delhi, reportedly ate human flesh as a gruesome tactic to draw attention to their demands, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The farmers are demanding RM26bil in drought relief, insurance for their crops and the setting up of a board for the contentious Kaveri river.

The farmers, who set up a mini farm in the city and surrounded it with the skulls and bones of farmers who had committed suicide due to mounting debt, marched through the city with the remains on Tuesday.

They wore loincloths and ate the flesh from a body they had reportedly collected from the banks of the Yamuna river.
