Garuda Indonesia offers passengers additional baggage allowance

SINGAPORE - Garuda Indonesia will be joining two other Asian airlines in offering passengers additional baggage weight allowances when they travel on international flights.

From November onwards, Indonesia's national airline will allow all adult and child passengers an extra 10kg increase in baggage allowance throughout the different travel classes.

Economy weight allowance has increased from 20kg to 30kg, while Executive and First Class passengers received an increase from 30k and 40kg to 40kg and 50kg respectively.

With the new baggage guidelines, passengers travelling across Garuda Indonesia's global network will be able to take along any equipment such as bicycles, surfboards, golf clubs or diving gear at no extra charge.

This year, Malaysian Airlines and Singapore Airlines have also announced additional baggage allowance.

Mr Nicodemus Lampe, Vice President, Area Asia, Garuda Indonesia said the company is tailoring their offerings to meet the changing needs of their passengers.

"We're seeing more passengers travelling further with us and for a longer period of time and we've enhanced our baggage allowance to provide them with ample space for any journey whether business or pleasure," said Mr Lampe.
