Garuda Indonesia wins awards from Changi and Incheon

Garuda Indonesia has gained more international recognition, this time for its achievement in passenger growth, which has shown a significant increase in two international airports in Southeast Asia and East Asia, namely Changi International Airport in Singapore and Incheon International Airport in South Korea.

The "Top Airline by Absolute Growth in Passenger Carriage for South East Asia Category" award was given to the national flag carrier based on its passenger growth, which significantly increased in 2014, by Changi International Airport CEO Lee Seow Hiang to Garuda Indonesia president director Arif Wibowo in Singapore on April 23.

Three other airlines receiving the same recognition are Korean Air for the East Asia region, Emirates for the Middle East and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for Europe.

A day previously, Garuda Indonesia won a similar award at the Incheon International Airport Cooperation Awards for "The Best Airline of The Year 2014 Award Group D". The award was given to Garuda Indonesia South Korea general manager Dewa Rai.

"The Best Airline of The Year" title was awarded to Garuda Indonesia for its achievement in carrying more than 200,000 passengers during 2014.

Incheon International Airport Cooperation (IIAC) also assessed other factors such as service quality and safety culture based on an audit by the South Korean Ministry of Transportation.

At another event - Airport Interior (AIX) and World Travel Catering & Onboard Services (WTCE) 2015 in Hamburg - Garuda Indonesia received an "Outstanding Food Service in Asia 2015" award from Pax International magazine.

The award was given for the airline's excellent catering based on a global survey.
