Visitor numbers to India are up.
Over 32 lakhs (3.2 million) - an increase of 10 per cent compared to last year - visited the country, according to tourism minister Mahesh Sharma.
Significantly the increase was between May and Oct, a non-peak season.
August saw the sharpest rise at 16.9 per cent.
However, India is only 41st in the world for tourist arrivals, with a fraction of the numbers smaller Asian countries like Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore attract.
