Magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolts North Cotabato in Philippines

KIDAPAWAN CITY - A 4.5-magnitude earthquake was reported in the town of Carmen in North Cotabato at 9:17 a.m. Sunday.

Engr. Hermes Daquipa, chief of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Kidapawan City sub-office, said the quake was tectonic in origin and was traced east of Carmen.

The tremor was felt at Intensity 1 in Kidapawan City and nearby Kabacan town.

Daquipa said no damage in property had been reported.
