A Chinese tourist, whose reported missing triggered a massive search operation, was found Tuesday morning about 4 kilometres from the Racha Tiger Zoo where she was last seen Saturday.
A local resident spotted 36-year-old Gao Li Ping washing her clothes at small canal so she was taken to a house.
Police were alerted and the tourist, who appeared hungry and tired, was taken to a hospital for a check-up.
She told a Chinese interpreter that she did not want to return home in China because she was forced to buy a life insurance.
On Saturday, tour guide Jingya Sae Jao told police that he led a party of 37, including Gao, to the zoo on but she did not return to the tour bus later.
Officers began searching for Gao on Sunday night, but the operation was called off after a few hours amid heavy rain.
