Missing flight QZ8501: 'Last vacation as a family' before son's marriage

As 25-year-old Louise Sidharta made her way to Juanda International Airport yesterday to catch her 1.25pm flight to Singapore, news about a missing Indonesia AirAsia plane came on the radio.

It was Flight QZ8501.

Ms Sidharta quickly browsed the Internet for more news on the incident, and her worst fears were confirmed. Her fiance Alain Oktavianus, 27, was on that flight.

Their wedding was planned for next May.

On the plane, along with her Indonesian entrepreneur fiance, were his parents and three brothers.

"They planned their vacation on their own. It was supposed to be their last vacation as a family before we got married," Ms Sidharta said.

She took a later flight to Singapore with her family.

She was speaking to the media at Changi Airport on her way to a holding room to wait with the friends and relatives of other passengers on the missing flight.

"We're all just waiting. They said that we just need to wait until they have more updates," she said.
