INDIA - Indian prime minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a civil air terminal in Chandigarh.
All domestic flights operating to and from Chandigarh are likely to be moved to the new 53,400 sq m terminal from next month.
The new terminal, which cost Rs939 crores, has 48 check-in counters, four baggage conveyor belts, three passenger boarding bridges, parking for 500 cars and can handle various types of aircraft.
Airport officials said an international flight from Chandigarh to Dubai is likely to take off next month.
