Police question actress over fraud

INDONESIA - Police investigators questioned actress Eddies Adelia on Monday as a witness in a case centering on a Rp 45 billion (S$5 million) investment fraud allegedly committed by her husband, Ferry Setiawan.

Eddies had skipped two summonses, prompting police to issue an arrest warrant. "However, she appeared before we found her to make an arrest," Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said.

Eddies denied the accusation she had hindered the questioning.

"I actually came earlier from Singapore even though I was still undergoing medical treatment," said Eddies after the questioning.

On Oct. 18, the police arrested Ferry at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after he arrived from Singapore, due to a report from businessman Apriyadi Malik, who allegedly lost Rp 21 billion to Ferry and Ferry's partner Ricky Rachmad.

Rikwanto said on Oct. 10, another victim had reported a similar incident of fraud in which the victim had lost Rp 24 billion.
