SINGAPORE - Sphere Conferences, the conference arm of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH) announced today its partnership with Myanmar's Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in organising the first Myanmar Civil Aviation Development Conference 2014, which will be held at the Traders Hotel in Yangon from March 24 to 26.
The conference will be Myanmar's platform for discussions on the potential growth plans for its aviation industry as the country poises to enter a major period of growth. Myanmar has seen a sharp increase in the number of business and leisure arrivals since the opening up of its economy.
According to DCA of Myanmar, the number of air passengers is likely to rise to 30 million in 2030. Myanmar's fourth international airport, the Harthawaddy International Airport, is also expected to start operating in 2018.
