Stefer Rahardian was determined to keep his undefeated record intact, and score a victory in front of his hometown crowd at the Jakarta Convention Center on 16 September.

He delivered, as just over a minute into the very first round, the 30-year-old finished Cambodia’s Sim Bunsrun at ONE: TOTAL VICTORY with a slick rear-naked choke.

After the opening bell, the southpaw Bunsrun threw a body kick, but that was the opening Rahardian needed in order to close the distance, and eventually get the match to the canvas.

Rahardian, the ONE Indonesia Flyweight Tournament Champion, immediately landed some strikes from the mount and then took Bunsrun’s back. Seconds after that, he was able to slip his arm under the chin, and look for the rear-naked choke.

The Jakarta native methodically adjusted to the perfect position, and forced the Kun Khmer specialist to tap out.

The undefeated Indonesian knew he had a chance to end the bout early, and did not want to squander it. “As soon as I got a chance to take his back, I was not going to waste that opportunity,” he stated in his victory speech.

Rahardian got the win at the 1:07 mark of the fist round to earn his seventh-straight victory, keeping his record unblemished. He did not call out any of his fellow flyweights following the contest, however, as he knew already what he wanted to do.

“I just want to keep improving and moving forward.”

Bunsrun takes a step back in his career, falling to 3-4, but still has an immense amount of talent. At only 24, there is no doubt that Bunsrun also has time to grow and build his skill set.
