Was teen killed during sex game?

Her half-naked body was found stuffed in a bag at a rubbish collection centre in Mong Kok, Hong Kong.

Believed to be about 15 years old, she was naked from the waist down and was tied up with plastic strips and adhesive tape, Hong Kong daily South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported.

Police believe that the girl, who was not named, was a victim of a sex game gone wrong. She was identified on Tuesday evening.

The Hong Kong newspaper quoted a police source as saying that she may have been involved in compensated dating - a form of prostitution - and that she had also been paid to pose for photos.

Police arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of killing the teenager.

"Initial investigations showed the suspect was believed to be her client," the source said.

Officers were trying to find out whether the suspect had sought a date with her online and how long they had known each other.

But the police said that the motive was unknown and an autopsy would be carried out to establish how she died.

The body was found at about 8.30am on Tuesday inside a red, white and blue nylon bag left in a big rubbish bin at the refuse collection centre.

A 58-year-old cleaner discovered the body and alerted her supervisor, who called the police.

"Her head, neck and four limbs were bound with plastic strips and adhesive tape," said Superintendent Lam Shu Wing of Kowloon West regional crime unit.

"Initial examination carried out by forensic pathologists indicated (that) the victim had been dead for a day and had had sexual intercourse."

He said that injuries, caused by the plastic strips, were found on her neck.

"At least three plastic strips were found around her neck," Supt Lam told SCMP.

After studying closed-circuit television footage from nearby buildings, police picked up the suspect at about 3pm on Tuesday.

The unemployed man remained in police custody on Tuesday night.

A police source said the man had checked into a hotel in Mong Kok on Monday afternoon and checked out at about 8am on Tuesday.

The hotel is about 300m from the refuse collection centre.

The police source told SCMP that initial investigations showed that a trolley was borrowed from the refuse collection centre and the body was wheeled from the hotel to the collection centre before the man checked out.

In compensated dating, girls provide companionship and sex to men for gifts and money. Its darker elements were revealed after the murder of a 16-year-old girl in 2008.
