WATCH: Minion-themed ambulance hits the road in Thailand

Given the extraordinary success of the animated comedy film Despicable Me and its spin-off Minions, a volunteer rescuer from Si Racha decided to remodel his ambulance and decorate it with Minions to give his vehicle a more cheerful vibe.

Footage shot in the coastal town on Thursday showed the owner of the ambulance, Nirand Leesuwan, showing off the all-new interior of his first-aid ride.

The yellow bean-shaped creatures dominate every bit of the ambulance, with stickers on the walls and stuffed toys sitting on the stretchers.

Leesuwan said that Minions relate to first-aid because they are unforgettable.

"Patients remember their voices and what they look like. They remember them from the movie. That's why we used Minions," he said.

Back in August, the volunteer became known locals for driving around town with an ambulance featuring Japanese cartoon character Doraemon.
