Wedding pigeons become lunch for passers-by

CHINA - Hundreds of pigeons that were bought and set free by a newlywed couple to celebrate their marital bliss were immediately captured by passers-by in Hefei, Anhui province, reported on Friday.

The couple took their wedding photos by an artificial lake in Hefei with hundreds of pigeons as props. After the photoshoot, the couple freed the birds for good luck.

But within minutes, onlookers caught nearly 100 of the pigeons.

"It's squab and they're edible," said a passer-by who had snatched a pigeon.
