Boost girls' football in schools

The exclusion of women's football from the 2015 SEA Games, which will be held here, shows there is still a lot of work to be done to develop the sport here.

Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand have qualified for the women's Asian Cup, which serves as a qualifier for next year's women's World Cup.

While the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has indicated what it has done to support women's football ("What is being done to develop women's football"; Nov 25, 2013), I do not see many primary schools having girls' football as a co-curricular activity.

My daughter's school does not have a team even though she indicated interest in joining one.

Is the FAS creating enough awareness of the sport in primary schools?
