TUV Rheinland Japan Accredited by South African Bureau of Standards (SABS)

COLOGNE, Germany, May 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) has accredited TUV Rheinland Japan's Global Technology Assessment Center in Yokohama. TUV Rheinland Japan is the first company in the TUV Rheinland Group to be accredited by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) outside South Africa. From now on, manufacturers or exporters wishing to enter the South African market with their electrical products can obtain proof of "electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)" directly from TUV Rheinland.

"Local tests in South Africa are no longer required, which avoids long lead times when applying for the prescribed 'SABS EMC Certificate of Compliance'," explains Claus Draga, expert for international product approvals at TUV Rheinland. "Manufacturers and exporters can apply to us for both the necessary approvals and the associated tests of electrical products, such as the NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) Letter of Authority (LoA) on product safety."

In the near future, manufacturers can also look forward for laboratories in Nuremberg and Greater China (Shanghai and Taiwan) to provide the necessary EMC approvals for SABS too. In contact with TUV Rheinland's market access services experts, the relevant approval steps for a specific product are defined and explained - worldwide, at the nearest TUV Rheinland location.
