2,000 educators, policymakers & technology leaders assemble to assess future of Asian Education

SINGAPORE, Oct. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Technology is changing the way we live, work and learn and it is having a profound impact on how we teach, where we teach and what we teach. On 8th and 9th November at Suntec Singapore, EduTECH Asia will bring together more than 2,000 senior K-12 and tertiary leaders, policymakers and technologists from over 30 Asian and global education markets to address the new digital trends and pedagogies transforming education in the region.

Opening the conference on the 8th of November, Mr Adrian Lim, Director, Digital Participation and Foresight Division (Digital Readiness Cluster), Infocomm and Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) will address on the increasing importance of makerspaces in education with his keynote on "I Make, Therefore I Am" -- Digital Makers for a Digital Society. He will then be joined by education futurist, Mr Bryan Alexander, Futurist and founder, Bryan Alexander Consulting to further Explore the human side of the education technology revolution.

Continuing on the theme of addressing changing education trends on Day 2 (9th November), the Women in Tech Keynote panel brings together Jessica Hale, Director of Learning and Innovation, Oasis International School -- KL, Tara Linney, Instructional Technology Coach, Singapore American School, Cris Turple, MYP Language & Literature Teacher, Canadian International School, Patricia Friedman, Digital Literacy Coach, UWCSEA Dover and Dr. Neelam Parmar, Director of E-Learning, Ashford School to discuss the next edtech transformations.

The free-to-attend exhibition will feature a variety of exciting activities including the IMDA Digital Makerspace showcasing projects by schools, the Start-up theatre where some of the most-exciting edtech start-ups will pitch their disruptive ideas, the #teachtechtalks with case studies delivered for educators by educators on how they are using technology in their classrooms and schools, and the Tech Showcase where the latest cutting-edge edtech innovations will be showcased by leading industry players including HP Inc, McGraw-Hill Education, SEQTA, Synergetic, Cyberhound, Ruckus Wireless, Mastercard, AV Media, AV Science, Epson and more.

The exhibition will also feature an AR/VR Zone that demonstrates how this emerging technologies is being used in vocational education, a Robotics Pavilion which provides mini robotics and coding workshops and where the 5th Singapore National CoSpace and RoboMaker Challenges 2017 will take place and a Start-Up Showcase Zone, featuring disruptive edtech innovation brought by 20+ edtech start-ups.
