The 43 most viewed profiles on LinkedIn Singapore

SINGAPORE - In an uncertain, small and competitive job market like Singapore's, professionals are increasingly finding the need to market themselves to potential employers as well as employees they might want to hire.

Just this week, LinkedIn Singapore announced that it had reached one million users in the country.

With this milestone reached, LinkedIn says that about 70 per cent of the country's professional labour force and student population now own an account on its website.

The Singapore market is the fourth in Southeast Asia that surpassed the one millionth member mark, after Malaysia, Indonesia and The Philippines.

Other markets in Asia Pacific with more than a million members include Australia, India and China.

'Power Profiles' are LinkedIn members who have invested in their professional identity on LinkedIn to become professionals with the most viewed LinkedIn pages in the Singapore market.

Many professionals, senior executives and entrepreneurs in Singapore are seeing the value of using social media such as LinkedIn to boost their professional brand.

In addition, LinkedIn also revealed the companies in Singapore which have the most followers.

They include:

2. Solutions for Emerging Asia Pte Ltd
3. SingTel
4. National University of Singapore
5. StarHub

The top five companies users in Singapore follow are:

1. Standard Chartered Bank
2. Hewlett-Packard
3. Google
4. Solutions for Emerging Asia Pte Ltd
5. IBM
