A survey carried out by LinkedIn has found that 86 per cent of Singaporeans who are employed but passive in job searching are willing to explore new recruitment opportunities.
Citing a recent Randstad report on the shortage of talent in Singapore, LinkedIn said that employers could consider looking at recruiting people from the passive talent pool to meet their human resource needs.
Passive talent refers to people who are already employed but might not be actively seeking a new job.
About 73 per cent of Singaporean professionals consider themselves passive talent, LinkedIn said in its report.
However, of the 10 countries surveyed, Singapore had the highest ratio of 'approachable' passive talent to 'super-passives' at 6:1.
In addition, up to 49 per cent of Singaporeans who were new to their jobs said that they were willing to discuss a new opportunity with recruiters.
Of the more than 1,000 Singaporean surveyed, 27 per cent were considered 'Active', and were sending out resumes and actively looking for a new position
Another 45 per cent were 'Explorers', and not looking for a job but willing to discuss a new opportunity with recruiters.
17 per cent were classified 'Tiptoers', and were thinking about changing jobs and reaching out to close associates
The remaining 10 per cent- were 'Super-passive', and not interested in a new opportunity
