89 finalists vie for titles at advertising industry's Hall of Fame Awards 2016

SINGAPORE - The winners of the coveted Hall of Fame Awards 2016 will be revealed next Saturday (Nov 26) at a gala dinner held at Gardens by the Bay.

Organised by the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS), the award submissions saw a total of 89 finalists across 33 categories. More than 170 entries were received this year.

Categories included Agency Head Of The Year, Creative Director Of The Year and Client Of The Year and involved finalists from both private and government sectors.

Singapore Press Holdings' AsiaOne is one of the sponsoring partners of the awards and had profiled a number of notable personalities from various agencies.

According to IAS, this year was the most competitive in the awards' 17-year history, with the highest number of submissions to date and the largest number of judges assembled.

The judging panel for the Hall of Fame Awards 2016 comprises 46 judges from members of the marketing communications segment such as AirAsia, AXA, City Developments Limited, Kimberly-Clark, McDonald's Restaurants and Singapore Tourism Board.

Among the media platforms which will be present are Facebook, Google and Havas Media.

Mr Gary Steele, chief judge of the awards, said: "In line with the 2016 theme 'Great Minds See New Possibilities', this year's Hall of Fame Awards focuses on not just recognising the importance of innovation and creativity, but more importantly the people that are behind the ideas.

"The diverse talent pool in Singapore is very positive and I am confident we will have some amazing people taking over our jobs in the future," he added.

Ms Rowena Bhagchandani, chairman of the Hall of Fame Awards 2016, said that this year saw 26 per cent more entries than in 2015.

Tickets can be purchased from IAS. See the list of finalists here.
