Alibaba's Jack Ma in talks for stake in SCMP publisher: Bloomberg

SHANGHAI - Jack Ma, founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, is in talks to buy a stake in the publisher of Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, Bloomberg reported on Monday citing unidentified sources familiar with the matter.

Bloomberg said the discussions were at an advanced stage and a signing ceremony would be announced soon. It did not give financial details of the deal.

An Alibaba spokesman declined to comment. SCMP officials were not immediately available for comment.
