AsiaOne is the top preferred choice in 2016, say advertisers and marketers

The advertisers have spoken - Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) website AsiaOne is a top choice for advertisers and marketers when planning their digital media campaigns, according to the Digital Media of the Year survey conducted by trade magazine Marketing.

The news website was ranked third by advertisers in the local news and current affairs category, while The Straits Times' website took first place.

The advertisers, who came from various industries, indicated that SPH and SPH Magazines' websites were also top choices in the categories of local business & finance, women, motor vehicles, parenting, men and luxury.

AsiaOne came in third in 2015 as the most preferred news website and first in 2014.

Ms Karen Lim, editor at AsiaOne, said: "It is heartening to know that advertisers and marketers in Singapore have placed their trust in AsiaOne and believing that we can reach out to their target audiences.

"The team works closely with our advertisers on delivering effective and compelling campaigns to our readers, and to tell their brand story from our own angle and voice. It has been an insightful experience and we look forward to working closely with more advertisers in 2017."

SPH's financial daily The Business Times' website was ranked advertisers' most preferred website in the local business & finance category for the second consecutive year.

SPH Magazines' herworldPLUS and Cleo were advertisers' preferred websites in the women's category, coming in first and third respectively, while Young Parents came in first in the parenting category. Men's Health and The Peak came in second in the men and luxury categories respectively.

In the motor vehicles category, sgCarMart came in first while print magazine Torque's website was the runner-up.

Mr Julian Tan, Executive Vice-President of Digital Division at SPH, said: "Having many of our online properties ranked highly in their respective categories of the survey is a strong signal to us that we are well-regarded by decision-makers and industry professionals. This is proof that our media offerings have allowed advertisers and clients to achieve concrete and effective results. We are spurred on to continuously innovate and offer more fresh solutions to advertisers and clients."

A total of 900 industry professionals participated in the survey, including decision makers and director-level marketers who were well represented. Almost 73 per cent of client-advertiser respondents were manager-level decision makers and above with 47 per cent from the most senior ranks.
