Well-known as an easy weekend holiday hotspot for Singaporeans and expatriates living here, the holiday island of Bintan, Indonesia could soon be more than just a short getaway when the Laguna Park Bintan resort residences are completed.
New property developments in Bintan look set to give buyers in the market for a second or holiday home more upmarket and affordable choices, which is about 45 minutes away from Singapore by ferry.
Launched by the Banyan Tree Group on Jan 24, the Laguna Park Bintan is a series of about 80 three-storey landed resort homes set within an enclave of Bintan's first integrated resort for buyers who want luxurious living spaces and tranquillity amidst a natural environment.
With an estimated completion date for its first phase in mid-2017, it will share the same residential address as the Laguna Bintan Golf Course, and the upscale Banyan Tree and Angsana resorts.
The Laguna Park Bintan is Banyan Tree's third edition after its previous two launches in Phuket, Thailand, and Lang co, Vietnam. First launched in Phuket, Thailand, there has been about 120 properties sold in the phase one release, while 80 per cent of the first block of the Laguna Park project in Vietnam, Lang Co, was sold in the first preview weekend.
In Bintan, the townhomes are priced from S$550,000. With homes situated on 300 - 400sqm plots (approximately 3,230 - 4,300 sq ft), and a total built-up area of 210 - 250 sqm (approximately 2,260 - 2,90 square feet), this is much more space than what you would get on mainland Singapore for the same amount of dollars paid.
Designed for families who want additional living space and a resort lifestyle, the three-storey homes are located in a generous expanse of natural surroundings. Selected units will also have views of the golf course or the South China Sea.
The townhomes come in a two-bedroom, three-bathroom, configuration, with an optional multi-purpose room on the rooftop terrace. Each of the homes also have a car park lot included. Depending on preferences, home owners can opt to have a private swimming pool, or additional dining or living spaces at an additional cost.
Laguna Park Bintan home owners will also be treated to the legendary Banyan Tree experience, as buyers get full access to facilities ranging from casual to fine restaurants, world-class spas and a marine centre within the Banyan Tree-owned resorts.
The Banyan Tree Group's Banyan Tree hotel brand offers guests an all-villa concept while its Angsana brand markets contemporary, chic and ecologically-sensitive hotels and resorts.
Banyan Tree Group has also thrown in sweeteners such as a complimentary golf club membership at the Laguna Bintan Golf Club for buyers, and automatic enrolment into The Sanctuary Club, an exchange programme which allows owners of participating Cassia, Banyan Tree, Angsana and Laguna properties to exchange part of their annual entitlement for a complimentary stay at a different destination within the network.
Home owners can also enjoy discount privileges at participating resorts worldwide.
Sited within the same residential community is Banyan Tree's third brand, Cassia, comprising fully-furnished serviced apartments that come with a hotel-managed rental programme.
These compact apartments are offered as one and two-bedroom units ranging from 41 to 73 square metre in size, and are priced from S$230,000. Cassia Bintan is offered on a lease-back programme, with rental returns on properties that are purchased.
To date, approximately 60 per cent of the first two blocks of the primarily two-bedroom units released have been sold. A new block to cater to the increasing demand for one bedroom units will also be released.
Cassia Bintan owners are also given automatic membership into The Sanctuary Club.
