DBS Vickers named top local broker again in Asiamoney poll

DBS Vickers (DBSV) has been named top local broker for the 11th consecutive year in Asiamoney's annual brokerage poll, with Maybank Kim Eng occupying the runner-up spot and RHB-OSK coming in third.

"We are pleased to be named the Top Local Broker in the Asiamoney Brokers Poll for the 11th consecutive year," said DBSV's chief executive Lim Kok Ann.

"It's heartening to know that our research and sales services have been well appreciated by institutional customers globally."

DBSV also won four other categories - overall sales service, execution, events and/or conferences, and roadshows and company visits.

It was second to UBS for overall country research and third in the category for independent research brokerage, a category which was won by CLSA with RHB-OSK the runnerup.

For individual awards, UBS's Lim Keng Hock was named best salesperson while CIMB's Roger Tay won best sales trader.

Among analysts, UBS's Cheryl Lee was named best for strategy and industrials, while Credit Suisse's Anand Swaminathan won for bank coverage.

CLSA analysts won for their coverage of five sectors - Asheefa Sarangi for diversified financials and insurance, Wong Yiew Kiang for healthcare and real estate, and Lu Chuanyao for materials.

RHB-OSK analysts also did well - Jarick Seet won for small caps, semiconductors and the software sectors while James Koh did the same for consumer discretionary and consumer staples.

RHB-OSK was also named most improved broker over the past 12 months ahead of Maybank Kim Eng and DBSV.
