On Saturday, May 19, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally said 'I do', just a little over a year and a half since their first date. It was a momentous event watched all over the world, with it being one of the most anticipated ceremonies of the year.

It was held at twelve noon at St. George's Chapel, where Harry was baptized.  It is also the same church where Harry's father, Prince Charles, and Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall had their religious blessings in 2005. The church, which is relatively more modest than Westminster Abbey, holds about 800 people and is rooted in royal tradition.

Bishop Michael Bruce Curry gave the wedding address while the Dean of Windsor, the Rt. Revd. David Connor, conducted the Service. Harry and Meghan's marriage vows were then officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Revd. and Rt. Hon. Justin Welby.

Unsurprisingly, one of the most talked about details of the wedding was Meghan's wedding dress. After months of secrecy, it was finally revealed to the world on May 19, after the Queen had approved it. The dress by designer Clare Waight Keller was modern, sleek, and timeless. Keller, who was named the first female artistic director of the French fashion house of Givenchy, designed the dress to be in-line with Meghan's pared-down and elegant style.

After the ceremony, the newly-weds had a carriage procession around Windsor Town, which was followed by a formal reception at St. George's Hall with the couple's guests from the congregation. Later that evening, the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a more private reception for 200 friends and family at the Frogmore House.

Guests were served dishes that used fresh and locally sourced ingredients, some even from the Queen's own estate. In order to ensure that they served top tier dishes, Meghan and Prince Harry had been doing taste tests with royal kitchen Head Chef, Mark Flanagan, since March.

The cake on the other hand was care of chef Claire Ptak. Originally from California like Marckle, Ptak is now the owner Violet, of one of the most beloved bakeries in London. While it's tradition for royal weddings to serve fruitcake, Meghan and Prince Harry opted for the brighter flavors of a lemon elderflower cake, which perfectly displayed the flavors of Spring. The cake was decorated with fresh flowers and iced with butter cream.

The evening reception, which was the last official wedding-related event, was reported by guests to be more relaxed, intimate, and quite joyous. According to Marie Claire, the couple's first dance was to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" and guests enjoyed cocktails that were themed after the couple. More great music ensued with fireworks set off at 11, followed by midnight snacks.

It truly was a magical and joyful celebration of love as the world cheered for one of the most revered weddings of modern history.
