SINGAPORE, Oct. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Frasers Centrepoint Limited ("FCL" or the "Group") is pleased to announce that it was named one of the winners of the "Top Green Companies in Asia" award, under the Sustainability category, at this year's Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Awards. The award bears testament to the Group's exceptional efforts in minimising any negative impact on the environment, community, and society, through the course of its business operations. It also recognises that the Group has taken steps to ensure that its activities are environmentally friendly, and that environmental concerns are taken into account in the development of its processes and products.
An important consideration in the evaluation was FCL's consistent sustainability achievements across its businesses. It is jointly developing One Bangkok, a mega integrated development that will be the first development in Thailand to target LEED Platinum certification for Neighbourhood Development. FCL also manages the largest portfolio of 'Green Star'-certified spaces in Australia and developed Central Park Sydney, a mixed-use development which prides itself as one of the greenest urban villages in the country. The group is pushing boundaries in Australia by developing Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre, which will be the world's most sustainable retail centre. This development will unlock new possibilities in sustainable design that aims to achieve the Living Building Challenge standard, one of the most stringent green building certifications in the world. Meanwhile, all of FCL's office buildings in Singapore have achieved at least the BCA Green Mark Gold rating, while three of its buildings - Alexandra Point, Causeway Point and Capri by Fraser, Changi City, have been ranked among the Top 10 Energy Efficient Buildings in Singapore in these respective categories – private offices, retail buildings and hotels, since 2015. Its latest office project in Singapore, Frasers Tower, has also been awarded the BCA Green Mark Platinum rating, and is designed to provide a unique blend of workspace and nature.
Mr. Chia Khong Shoong, Chief Corporate Officer and Chief Financial Officer of FCL, said, "Receiving this award is a testament that sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do. We are encouraged that our efforts are being recognised, and will continue to develop innovative building solutions that helps protect the environment, while creating enduring, memorable experiences for the community."
