FTLife sponsors "New World Harbour Race", inviting local universities to join the new team competition of "FTLife University Championship"

HONG KONG, June 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- FTLife Insurance Company Limited ("FTLife") is delighted to announce that the company will be the only insurance company that sponsors the "New World Harbour Race". This iconic annual sporting event, title-sponsored by New World Development Company Limited ("New World Development") and organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association ("HKASA"), will be held on the morning of 27 October 2019 (Sunday) across Victoria Harbour.

This year, a brand-new route will stretch from the Public Pier at Wan Chai Golden Bauhinia Square to the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui. The enrolment quota for participants has been raised to a record high of 4,000, representing an increase in participants of more than 10% to allow more professional and leisure swimmers to take part and enjoy the beautiful harbour scenery from another perspective.

The "New World Harbour Race" has been recognised as an "M" Mark Event by the Major Sports Events Committee for many years, reflecting its status as a large-scale, world-class sporting event. This year, "#Wavemaker" is chosen as the theme of the Race.
"In addition to the existing Racing and Leisure Groups, a new team competition sponsored by FTLife is added - swimmers from eleven local universities are invited to race for the 'FTLife University Championship'. It aims at encouraging youngsters to actively participate in sporting events and expressing the perseverance of Hong Kong people," FTLife Chief Marketing Officer, Angela Yam, added.
To show full support to the Race, FTLife will provide all swimmers with extra protection. Upon successful registration and approval*, the swimmers will enjoy 1-year personal accident protection for free, so that they can enjoy the race with total peace of mind.
Through this sponsorship, FTLife seeks to further promote the importance of healthy and enriched living. It has reserved 50 places in the Race for the customers, agents and staff and both entry fee and time trial fee are funded.
