HDB, private property prices fall further

Housing Board resale prices continued to fall in the third quarter of the year, as more flats changed hands.
The HDB resale price index fell 1.7 per cent, down for the fifth straight quarter.
There were 4,513 resale deals, up 2.8 per cent from the previous quarter, and just shy of the 4,529 in the third quarter of last year, the latest figures from HDB showed.
Private property prices fell 0.7 per cent in the third quarter, down for the fourth straight quarter, data from the Urban Redevelopment Authority showed.
This compares to the 1 per cent fall in prices in the second quarter of this year.
