Check the status of the business

See if the company has a "live" status in the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority's register. This means that it still exists.

Check the compliance rating of the business

A green tick shows it has met the filing requirements under the Companies Act - holding an annual general meeting, tabling of its accounts and filing its annual returns. A red cross indicates it has not.

Check the registered address of the company

If you are unable to contact a business at this address or suspect that it might have suddenly switched premises, exercise caution before dealing with it. For more information, check out the consumer guide at www.acra.gov.sg/Compliance/ACRA+Consumer+Guide.htm
