Job outlook in S'pore for next quarter up

SINGAPORE - The job outlook in Singapore for the next three months is the brightest in more than a year, according to Hudson’s latest quarterly survey on employment trends.

The recruitment firm surveyed 337 employers and found that 48.7 per cent of them were planning to increase headcount in the July-to-September period. This is up 5.5 percentage points from the last poll for the current quarter.

Industries with the strongest intentions to hire include manufacturing and industrial (50.9 per cent), IT & T (50.6 per cent) and consumer (42.5 per cent).

Nearly half of the employers – 48.7 per cent – also expect to keep staff levels steady.
