Marking the 2nd Anniversary, CIAYO Comics Gives Over 1,000 Titles of Local Comics

CIAYO Comics' 2nd Anniversary celebration is held to appreciate Indonesia comic authors and their effort to rise the Golden Age of Comics in Indonesia.

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Dec. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- For two years, CIAYO Comics has become the largest digital comic platform from Indonesia since 19 December 2016. To celebrate its second anniversary, CIAYO Comics held an event on December 21 at CIAYO Corp's office located in The Dragon Building, North Jakarta, Indonesia. The event titled CIAYO Comics Club #2 became a micro-gathering for local comic creators, creative partners and vendors in collaboration with CIAYO Comics.

In 2018, CIAYO Comics focused on developing its contents and increasing the loyalty of comic authors. "2018 is the year of the authors. We have held a roadshow to 11 cities to form digital comic communities and build connections to expand our reach of comic reading across Indonesia," said Digital Marketing CIAYO Corp, Rajiv Akram. "We also invited 50 authors on a trip to Bali on 10-12 December as a form of our appreciation to them," he added.

Until the second year, CIAYO Comics has become Indonesia's top comic platform by providing local comics to restore Indonesia's Golden Age of Comics. Until the end of 2018, CIAYO Comics had published more than 1,000 titles, both official and challenge, in collaboration with more than 500 comic creators, hundreds of creative communities and comic studios in Indonesia. During this year, the number of CIAYO Comics readers reached 150,727,804, a significant growth by 576 percent compared to 2017. The number is predicted to continuously grow, as Indonesia's creative industry, including comics, is increasing rapidly. Quoted from the official site of Indonesia Agency for Creative Economy, the creative industry contributes almost IDR 1,000 trillion for the country's GDP. 

Romance comic genre has contributed the highest percentage of readers at CIAYO Comics with 42 percent of readers in 2018, such as Hana & Mr Arrogant with 92,500 subscribers and Heartbeat with 91,200 subscribers. The second most popular genre ini CIAYO Comics is Comedy, shown in 63,200 subscribers of Soul of Neko.

Head of Business Development of CIAYO Corp Khrisnawan Adhie revealed that in 2019 CIAYO Comics can still be accessed for free on multiple platforms. "We have collaborated with BBM thus that the reach of CIAYO Comics is broader. In 2019, we are targeting to collaborate with more major platforms which have the value of their local brands, such as Kaskus," he said.

In addition, CIAYO Comics will focus more on providing features and collaborations aimed at user convenience. Some features such as rewards for readers and early access for new comics releases. "We hope that by improving these services, we can fulfill the convenience of comic readers, provide easy access, and are known to be even wider. "We are targeting next year's readers to increase 100 to 120 percent," he concluded.
