IMAX China Enjoys Highest May Box Office in Company's History
SHANGHAI, June 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- IMAX China Holding, Inc. (HKSE:1970) today announced that Marvel Studio's Avengers: Infinity War, which marks the first Hollywood film to ever be shot entirely with IMAX® cameras, generated approximately RMB 235 million by the end of May from more than 500 IMAX® theatres in China, surpassing Fast and Furious 7 to become the top-grossing IMAX film of all time in China. The film will continue its successful run in IMAX theatres during the upcoming weeks.
Driven by the strong performance of Avengers: Infinity War, IMAX grossed RMB 264 million for the month of May, a new May record for IMAX and its second highest monthly box office of all time in China.
